The first visit is almost always an anxious time for the new patient because of unknown expectations, we want to make sure that the first visit is wonderful from start to finish. We accomplish this by assisting you through the whole process.

When scheduling your appointment please have your insurance information available so that we may verify your insurance carrier covers hearing instruments.

Prior to your scheduled appointment we will mail a packet of information about our practice. There will be some paperwork that needs to be completed by yourself and another person such as a spouse or other family member who will accompany you to the appointment.

In the case of hearing or clarity loss it often involves and affects other family members, especially in the case of a spouse. This is why we request that someone you communicate with on a daily or regular basis come to the consultation with you. We believe in the holistic approach and solution to hearing loss and family’s involvement and understanding is very important to that process.

Please bring all the completed paperwork with you to your appointment.

Each of our offices has a comfortable reception area for you to relax in before your appointment. Our assistant will welcome you and collect your completed paperwork. 95% of all our scheduled appointments are on time and we work very hard to ensure that we see you in a timely manner. The actual consultation will take approximately 75 minutes, so please plan accordingly.

Typically each consultation begins with a conversation about you and your hearing needs. An examination will be made of your ear canal with a video otoscope so that you can see what we will be looking at. A hearing screening will take place for pure tones, speech testing in quiet and in noise (if not already completed at ENT visit). These test results are thoroughly discussed with you and your family member. This testing takes about 15-20 minutes. The solutions for any hearing or understanding problems are based on your unique and individual needs.

Your satisfaction is extremely important to us so we feel strongly that you should have the chance to listen to what improved hearing sounds like so we provide a ‘test drive’ with the hearing instrument. It is in this manner you will be able to hear what you have been missing. You may have the ability to actually wear the hearing aid in your own home and work environment to help you determine its effectiveness and its benefits.  Then you will proceed to a full 60-day risk-free evaluation.

We provide guidance and counseling are given to help your transition back into the world of sound. Your brain will take some time to get used to all the sounds that you may have not heard for years.

Financial Considerations

Even though we offer a risk free 60-day evaluation for all our hearing instruments we request that a deposit be made at the same time the evaluation period begins.  Flexible payment plans are available as well.
